Pre-contrast sagittal scan displays a high signal lesion with T1 weighting.

This unusual pineal mass was removed and diagnosed as a Papillary pineal tumor.

This is a rare lesion that is related to a choroid plexus papilloma. It is unknown why it is bright on T1 prior to contrast, but it is suspected that the signal may be caused by protein secretion by the tumor. There is a pre-albumin-like protein that is secreted.
