Ependymoma
Meningioma
Metastasis.
Lobulated masses projecting into the ventricular system from a region of choroid plexus.
Expand, can even trap, the ventricle from which they arise.
Can show regions of heavy calcification, hemorrhage, and/or cystic change
Hydrocephalus frequent
Pathway blockage from tumor, adhesions
CSF overproduction.
Distribution:
40% - 4th ventricle (adults)
10% - 3rd ventricle
43% - one of the lateral vents (children)
4% - multifocal sites of origin.

75% iso-hyperdense pre-contrast
25% punctate Ca+
Homogenous enhancement
MR
Mottled iso-hypointense T1, herterog T2 hyperintensity
Homogenous enhancement
+/- flow voids, Ca+.
Surgical resection
5-year survival approaches 100%.
