Cat scratch disease is caused by the Bartonella bacterium. It typically occurs after a cat scratch or bite.
The patient usually presents with fever and swollen axillary and supraclavicular nodes. The adenopathy usually persists for 4 to 6 weeks.
This patient presented with fever, tenderness, and parotid masses. There are multiple nodes in the parotid and jugular chain. One of the nodes was surgically excised for diagnosis.
